I've spent the last couple of days enjoying my knitting and wondering what else I can do craft wise. I've seen garments and art made of felt, infact I know someone who creates the most beautiful artwork using felt and fabrics:

I've been looking into this on the net and I have come across some lovely designs, and the process is not as hard as I thought...or at least it doesn't sound it. Apparently if anyone has ever put a wool garment on a hot wash and it has shrunk...this is felt! This happened to a jumper my son had. His Grandad must have put it on a medium wash because it shrunk a little but not a huge amount. The jumper is now way too small for AJ, so I may have a play with it later. I'll post photos when I do :) I think it is pure wool, but I'll check. Of course, this is not the only way to make felt. Lots of different ways are discussed on here

Here are some of the things I have come across on my net travels:
Here is a beautiful piece by a lady called Gail Cowley

I think I'm going to have a go. What's even better is that you can also felt with Dog hair!! I have a friend whos dog sheds bundles of hair, so I may chat her up and see what I can do with it. I'll post all my work of course so keep checking.
